Important Notice:
Microsoft Teams Rooms Device Licensing Changes
We wanted to share an important notice about Microsoft Teams Rooms device licensing that may affect you.
As of 1st July 2023, Microsoft Teams Room devices will no longer support the use of E3/E5 user licenses for room resource accounts signing into Teams.
What does this mean for me?
Any Teams Room systems using E3/E5 licensing will need to be migrated to a Teams Rooms Pro license or a Teams Shared Device License (depending on the system) by EOD on June 30th, 2023 or the Microsoft Teams Rooms system will NOT WORK the next day.
What do I need to do?
To assist our customers in this transition, here’s a simple step-by-step process for checking small batches of devices and an automated script for checking licenses in bulk to help update your licenses to Pro or Basic, making the transition as smooth as possible.
To assist you further, Microsoft has produced a video that shows a step-by-step guide on how to audit your licenses and ensure that your Microsoft Teams Rooms devices continue to log-in and run Teams meetings after the enforcement date. We highly recommend that you watch the video to learn more about the license update process and to make the transition as seamless as possible.
