How Do You Deliver a Powerful Meeting Room Experience for End Users?
With technology ecosystem changes, end users expect more from their meeting rooms than ever.
The pandemic brought many changes to the workplace. But, as workers get vaccinated and offices open back up, how are expectations for collaboration shifting, and how does this affect the technology ecosystem in the meeting room?
On this episode of Imagination Engineered, a Diversified Podcast, host Daniel Litwin talked with Derek Paquin, Microsoft Practice Lead at Diversified, Blaine Brown, Director of Collaboration and Innovation at Diversified, Mehryn Corrigan, Partner Sales Executive at Microsoft, and Jimmy Vaughan, Partner Technical Specialist at Microsoft.
The panel talked about returning to the office en masse, delivering on heightened expectations for the meeting room experience, and adjusting to the needs of the worker post-COVID.
From workflow to brick-and-mortar footprint, post-pandemic changes might or might not be permanent. However, according to Corrigan, some of these changes are definitely long-term, citing the example of workers transitioning to remote work.
“We’ve adopted a lot of these cloud tools that allow us to be productive,” Corrigan said. “We’re doing a lot more videos, a lot more meetings, and a lot more chats … [But] we do miss the office and seeing each other and that part of the social interaction.”
One way the office space could potentially change is in the spaces where workers get together to have more intense collaboration. Here, they will have access to more advanced technological tools in meeting rooms. One example of a new tool that helps remote workers join in with their in-person colleagues is the Whiteboard camera in the Microsoft Teams Rooms. Remote employees often can’t see the whiteboard, according to Vaughan, and this allows those not in the office to be elevated to the same level as in-person employees.
