Diversified SVP, Steve Plaugher, discusses the cost of non-standardization
Diversified’s Steven Plaugher discusses the importance of standardization in hospitals as a cost benefit to reduce spare parts inventories, lower technical support training requirements and other operational costs. He points out that standardization is now viewed as an investment much like quality (ASQ or COPQ) was viewed in its infancy. He emphasizes that for hospitals, it may be wise, in their due diligence process, to include discussions with partners about their standardization strategy as it has a direct impact on costs.
