Supreme Court of Western Australia

Reliable, Simple-To-Manage Solution Fulfills The Sophisticated Demands Of Legal Environment

This two-stage project was comprised of audio visual systems fit-outs for Western Australia’s primary legal facilities: the State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) and the Supreme Court of Western Australia – Civil (SCC) in the Old Treasury Building Tower, now known as the David Malcolm Justice Centre.

The scope of work included courtrooms, hearing and mediation rooms, public lobbies and galleries, a remote witness room, media room, and collaborative meeting and office spaces. Diversified also built a Technical Support Room, a centralized control hub that remotely manages and supports all audio visual systems across both the SAT and Supreme Court and in the future, will monitor all courts in Western Australia.

AMX formed the foundation for control and video distribution, consistent with court systems state-wide.

The extensive audio requirements of the project resulted in one of the largest AVB deployments using Biamp Tesira (at the time of installation) which needed to handle more than 225 concurrent audio streams on the network.

For The Record digital court recording was integrated, as well as Makito encoders for court streaming to the web. All AV systems are controlled via AMX Modero X Series panoramic tabletop touch control panels.

Daily court listings are published throughout the buildings’ digital signage displays using PADS.

The Technical Support Room enables up to three court technology staff to actively support all AV systems. To bolster this facility, the AMX remote monitoring platform was rolled out to enable proactive management and fault reporting, giving support teams a live snapshot of all AV systems. Video streaming allows support staff to remotely tap in to any video feed, virtually facilitating a physical presence within the room being monitored.
