Building the Business Out West

As Regional Manager of Western Canada, Calaigh recently relocated from Toronto to Calgary to help grow Diversified’s business in the region.

Her role starts with sales and business development but reaches into nearly every part of the operation. As Diversified expands in Calgary, she’s helping build the foundation for that growth—from how projects are supported to the culture of the local team.

She’s also making sure the region stays connected to the people and resources available across Diversified.

Seeing the Whole Picture

Calaigh considers herself a salesperson and business development professional first, but she likes being close to the entire project lifecycle.

Design, engineering, project management, deployment and ongoing support all matter because they shape what the client ultimately experiences. Understanding how those pieces fit together helps her stay involved long after a system goes live.

For Calaigh, that long-term relationship is important. AV is a significant investment, and clients need a partner that can help them get more from it over time. She sees integration as much more than connecting products. The value is in bringing different technologies and teams together to solve a real client need.

Designing Around the Experience

TELUS Health in Calgary is one project Calaigh is especially proud to have helped deliver. The experiential healthcare environment uses AV to help patients feel more comfortable during medical tests and procedures, with technology designed to blend seamlessly into the space.

One of the biggest challenges was integrating projection mapping within an MRI suite, requiring early design involvement and close coordination across teams. For Calaigh, the project reflects a broader shift in AV: technology is becoming part of the experience of a space, not simply something added to it.

Bringing One Diversified to Life

TELUS Health also showed the value of being able to reach beyond one office or region for the right expertise. The project brought together Calaigh, a fellow account executive in the U.S., engineers from across North America and other specialists and partners.

That kind of collaboration is what One Diversified means to Calaigh. Local teams can tap into experience across the company when a project calls for it. And when the challenge is something new, they can bring in the right people and partners to figure it out together.

Creating Space for New Talent

Calaigh sees fresh perspectives as essential to an industry that never stops changing. She’s passionate about bringing new talent into AV and creating opportunities for the next generation to learn, grow and help move the industry forward.

That’s especially true for women. As part of a Diversified leadership committee supporting women’s empowerment, Calaigh hopes to see more women enter the industry, build their careers and step into leadership roles.

Looking Toward What’s Next

For Calaigh, the future is a mix of growth, new talent and new technology.

AI is one area she’s watching closely. As it becomes more useful in everyday work, she sees a natural connection to AV: intelligent systems increasingly rely on audio and video to hear and see what’s happening around them. It’s another shift that could open new possibilities for the industry and its clients.

At the same time, Calaigh has plenty happening closer to home. Building Diversified’s presence in Western Canada means growing the business, developing the team and bringing more of the company’s capabilities to clients in the region. For her, that makes Calgary an exciting place to help build what’s next.
