Reimagining the Blueprint for
SCALABLE, CONNECTED MEDIA PRODUCTION
Objective
A leading global media company set out to build a next-generation broadcast home in a major metropolitan area, one that would redefine how its media brands collaborate, produce, and deliver content. The vision was bold: unite national news, local broadcast, sports, and supporting divisions such as sales and marketing under one roof for the first time.
After decades of operating from multiple sites across the city, the organization aimed to consolidate its fragmented infrastructure into a single IP-based campus built on SMPTE ST 2110 standards. The new environment needed to bring creative and technical teams together, preserve proven REMI production workflows, and establish a reliable yet forward-looking foundation for future innovation.
With a long-standing partnership spanning nearly two decades, the organization turned to Diversified to design and deliver a facility that would seamlessly blend innovation with operational stability and set a new benchmark for large-scale, collaborative media production.
Delivering a Unified,
FUTURE-READY MEDIA ECOSYSTEM

Solution
Planning for the new campus began in 2018 with a focus on people, process, and technology. The media mogul engaged Diversified to help reimagine its production ecosystem to support a “one roof” operational model, where network, local, and sports divisions could share resources, collaborate seamlessly, and accelerate content creation.
What followed was a complete rethinking of how news, sports, and entertainment could co-exist—each retaining its brand identity while operating within an interconnected technical, operational, and creative framework.

Studios
Scalable, Reliable IP Infrastructure
At the heart of the facility is a fully redundant SMPTE ST 2110 infrastructure, one of the largest of its kind in North America. Mirrored Central Equipment Rooms (CERs) form the backbone of the facility, ensuring continuous operation and providing scalability for future expansions.
The organization implemented dual isolated networks—Enterprise and Broadcast—ensuring that corporate IT updates never affect on-air production. This separation, combined with a new orchestration layer, allows teams to dynamically reallocate compute power and routing between studios and technology infrastructure, maximizing uptime and energy efficiency.
Designed to be future-focused but risk-aware, the facility relies on a proven, high-performance IP transport model that is reliable, flexible, and scalable.

Editing Suites
A New Standard for Collaboration
The more than 350,000-square-foot production environment spans multiple floors and includes 20+ studios, multiple control rooms, and dozens of edit suites. Each space is equipped with flexible LED, AR/VR, and robotic camera systems to accommodate a wide range of programming.
Operations connect through a private fiber network, allowing real-time collaboration between locations while maintaining REMI workflows.
Centralized monitoring, shared control resources, and dynamic switching ensure no studio sits idle, creating a production environment that’s always active, efficient, and adaptable.

Streamlining the Build with Real-Time Asset Insight
During construction, the organization relied on a comprehensive asset-tracking system developed and delivered by its integration partner to provide full visibility into thousands of serialized equipment components. This centralized inventory enabled informed decision-making, maintained control over project assets, and helped keep the build on schedule.
Enabling Seamless Facility-Wide Broadcast Continuity
For ongoing operations, the organization established the overarching technical and workflow design for the facility—defining how communications, shading, playback, and other core functions would work together. Diversified implemented this engineering vision, ensuring teams could access shared production resources seamlessly and maintain consistent broadcast continuity across the building.
A Single Campus with a
SHARED VISION FOR STORYTELLING
Impact
The opening of the new campus represents a fundamental shift in how the organization’s media brands operate and collaborate. For the first time, national, local, and sports divisions share a single address, breaking down organizational silos and fostering a culture of creativity and efficiency.
The unified campus has centralized media operations, streamlined communications, and significantly reduced operational overhead. The organization has also realized real estate and sustainability gains by exiting multiple legacy sites.
From a technical standpoint, the facility serves as a model for hybrid production ecosystems, showcasing how IP-based infrastructure and resource orchestration can transform large-scale media workflows.
By blending innovation with dependability, the organization created a facility that supports today’s production needs while preparing for tomorrow’s opportunities—a modern, resilient hub built for the evolving future of storytelling.
