Redefining Collaboration for a

HYBRID-FIRST WORKFORCE

Objective

Zurich recognised that collaboration has entered a new era. To reflect that shift, the company set out to modernise its North Sydney headquarters as a flagship hub designed for connection. The new design supports everything from intimate workshops to large-scale hybrid events. With hundreds of participants on-site and joining remotely, Zurich needed a solution that would ensure crystal-clear communication, rock-solid reliability and the flexibility to evolve as needs change.

The vision was simple yet bold: to create multi-function collaboration spaces powered by frictionless technology that seamlessly connect in-room and virtual attendees, minimise technical friction and embody Zurich’s values of inclusion, agility and performance. They turned to long-time technology partner Diversified to help them bring that vision to life.

Solution

Zurich required flexible spaces that could run various types of events, from strategic workshops to global townhalls, while ensuring remote participants felt equally included. Diversified delivered an ecosystem built on user-first technology, agility and strong partnerships.

Hybrid Meetings

Solving the Audio Challenge

Interactive sessions at Zurich often brought dozens of people together at separate tables, but boundary microphones consistently fell short — missing voices, creating setup hassles and leaving remote participants disconnected from the conversation. Diversified solved this by introducing ceiling array microphones that capture speech naturally and evenly across the room, delivering hands-free audio while removing technology distractions.

Each space had distinct audio demands. On Level 17, workshops and planning sessions with 50–60 people required clear capture at every table. On Level 2, the flexible auditorium needed wide coverage for town halls and large gatherings where hundreds of voices might enter the mix. Across both environments, the technology disappears into the background. No mic passing, no missed voices, no barriers to inclusion.

Multi-Purpose Spaces

A User-First Experience

Every space was designed to respond to people, not the other way around. Level 17 adapts seamlessly from small client workshops to large-scale corporate meetings, while the reconfigurable Level 2 auditorium easily scales for town halls and other major gatherings. Across both spaces, the experience remains consistent and equitable. Remote participants feel fully present, and in-room teams can focus on the conversation rather than the technology.

Participant Capacity

Built for Agility

With 95% of Zurich’s meetings now hybrid, reliability and adaptability were non-negotiable. Diversified delivered a software-defined solution that evolves through simple firmware updates rather than disruptive hardware swaps to extend system value, minimise downtime and ensure Zurich’s collaboration spaces remain future-ready.

Delivering Equity, Reliability and

LONG-TERM VALUE

Impact

The new collaboration spaces are now central to Zurich’s workplace strategy, seamlessly supporting everything from executive meetings to hybrid events and team workshops. Every participant, onsite or remote, has an equal voice.

By pairing human-centred design with technology that adapts in real time, Zurich has created spaces that work intelligently, delivering consistent performance and enduring value. The result is not just a modernised workplace, but a responsive one—built for connection today and ready for evolution tomorrow.
