Empowering storytellers and
ENERGIZING FANS
Objective
With aging gear and a major video board upgrade looming, the time was right for the Mariners to rethink how their control room fuels the fan experience. They weren’t looking for a standard update. Their vision was bold: create a modern production hub that empowers their crew, amplifies storytelling, and sets the stage for the next era of in-venue entertainment. This wasn’t maintenance—it was momentum. About turning technical limitations into creative opportunity. To make it happen, they called in a trusted technology partner who knows the ballpark almost as well as they do—Diversified.

Solution
In baseball, championships aren't won in a single inning—and neither are world-class control rooms. The same way they build a winning team, the Seattle Mariners approached their stadium technology upgrade with patience, precision, and purpose. This story was all about creating an amped up fan experience through precise execution, smart investment, and the power of trusted partnerships.
The Mariners needed to upgrade their aging infrastructure to deliver cinematic-quality game day production, while making their entire broadcast operation future-ready with the latest technology fit for their specific needs and most creative ideas.

Phase by Phase, Piece by Piece
Rather than tearing everything down at once, the Mariners took a strategic, phased approach. Phase one focused on critical infrastructure—replacing the aging video router and laying the groundwork for the control room’s IP-based backbone. Phase two brought the full vision to life: a completely reimagined control room built on the SMPTE ST 2110 standard, ready for HDR, and packed with cutting-edge gear designed to meet the creative ambitions of their production team.

Studios Built to Perform
New equipment included a state-of-the-art switcher, upgraded intercom systems, and a massive leap in camera capabilities. From static sticks to wireless gimbal rigs with cinematic feel, the Mariners dramatically expanded both the quality and quantity of their shots—capturing the game, the fans, and even activations across the street in Victory Hall with new energy and detail.
The physical space got just as much attention. Old workstations were replaced with ergonomic setups, optimized monitor arrays, dual-operator positions, and custom-built storage.

A Workflow Reengineered for Speed and Scale
The upgraded room also features enhanced editorial-to-control room connectivity, faster file transfers, and integrated systems that simplify complex show builds. Everything from content ingest to playout was rethought with efficiency and future expansion in mind—because when you’re producing for one of the most engaged fan bases in baseball, there’s no room for delay.
The Power of Partnership
What truly set this project apart was the trust and history between the Mariners and Diversified. Having worked together for over a decade, Diversified brought more than just technical expertise—they brought institutional knowledge of the venue, the team’s workflow, and the creative goals that drive every production.

Impact
The new control room unlocked a new level of creative potential for the Mariners’ production team, which they will continue to realize over many years to come. From sharper visuals to new fan-focused features, the technology elevates every moment— whether it's showcasing live activations within the facility’s entertainment district or creating captivating content worthy of a national broadcast.
The shift to an IP-based, HDR-ready environment positions the organization for whatever comes next, giving the team flexibility to experiment and grow without limitations. And for the crew behind the scenes, a better-designed space means smoother shows, improved collaboration, and room to push the envelope. This isn’t just a new control room. It’s a launchpad for next-level storytelling and a future-ready foundation for one of the most electric game-day experiences in Major League Baseball.
