Setting the Foundation for
FLEXIBLE, HYBRID LEARNING
Objective
Flinders University set out to create a flexible, technology-enabled learning environment that works just as well for students in the room as it does for those joining remotely. The goal was to support more collaborative, student-focused teaching while making it easy for lecturers to walk into any space and get started without friction.
At the same time, the university needed a solution that could integrate with existing systems, remain consistent across all rooms and provide a future-ready platform that can adapt as teaching methods continue to change.
Bringing Together
SIMPLE, SCALABLE AV ACROSS CAMPUS

Solution
To bring this vision to life, Diversified partnered with Flinders’ AV and IT teams to design and deliver a scalable, easy-to-use AV environment that enhances the learning experience while supporting the way teaching and learning continue to evolve.
70+
Collaboration Spaces
Flexible and Collaborative Learning Environments
Each space is designed to support wireless content sharing and allows lecturers and students to teach and learn from anywhere in the room, encouraging more natural interaction and collaboration. Confidence monitors provide presenters with clear visibility of content and participants, helping them stay oriented and deliver sessions with ease.
115
Digital Displays
Enhanced Hybrid Experience
Rooms were configured with multiple displays positioned at the front and rear of the space, so participants, both remote and in person, can stay engaged without constantly shifting their focus. Cameras placed alongside the displays create more natural eye contact for remote participants, making sessions feel more connected and engaging.
100+
In-Room Microphones
Intuitive and Future-Ready Technology
The technology was designed to be simple and consistent. Lecturers can confidently walk into any room and know exactly how it works. Room booking panels integrated with the university’s timetabling system make it easy to check availability and start sessions quickly.
The solution also enables remote monitoring and virtual support, helping the university manage and scale the environment over time. Its success has since established it as the foundation of Flinders’ AV programming framework, now being deployed across their spaces nationally.
Improving the Experience for
STUDENTS AND EDUCATORS ALIKE
Impact
The Festival Plaza Campus creates a more connected and engaging learning experience, whether students are in the room or joining remotely. Flexible spaces support natural interaction and collaboration, helping everyone feel part of the same conversation.
For lecturers, the technology stays in the background. A consistent, intuitive setup across every room means less time managing systems and more time focused on teaching and connecting with students.
Behind the scenes, improved visibility and control help the university run its spaces more efficiently and with confidence. The result is a campus designed not just for how learning happens today, but for how it will continue to evolve.
