In short, Harman is pursuing legal action against manufacturers and distributors involved in the production and sale of counterfeit products. As supply chain issues mount, will this become a larger problem in the AV world? While the pro-AV market is largely insulated from being duped by counterfeits, the problem of phishing scams and cybersecurity issues increase.

What’s more, the new Resorts World Las Vegas has built what is probably the largest AV-over-IP network of its kind. With its completion brings questions around working with competitors, IP standards and expectations for mainstream availability. “You always need to bring in partners for these large-scale projects,” says Cuellar. “The common goal is to make sure that the outcome is always going to provide the client with the maximum value and exceed their expectations.”

Fast and available Wi-Fi, Bluetooth capabilities and the like are expected at hotels and in the world at large. The market is moving towards AV-over-IP as there’s no other system that can handle it all.
