Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre

Complex Showcases Pioneering Technology To Suit A World Class Architectural Building Design

The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) project consists of event space audio visual systems within the plenary (Levels 1, 2 & 3), grand banquet room, 32 meeting rooms, foyer and reception spaces and other associated control and server rooms.

Diversified was selected as the technology solutions provider for the project because of our expertise across multiple audio visual, digital signage, production and distribution technical competencies.

The plenary is the centerpiece of the Centre. It can be configured into three separate spaces or as one large theater accommodating over 5,000 seats. The biggest challenges were the sheer size of the room and the requirement for a full HD platform to be designed and installed. The equipment selection was based upon high quality cutting-edge technology, ensuring longevity and minimizing equipment redundancy in the future.

Six LED walls are mounted within the foyer and plenary. The foyer system expands on the signage with the addition of dual rear projection LCD screens above the reception counter, and four LED walls located around the main foyer.

A dedicated fiber optic link was then patched between the fiber interfaces and each LED display wall within the foyer.

Diversified is proud to be a long term technology partner to the remarkable MCEC, which hosts some of Melbourne’s most prestigious events. This project allowed the company to pioneer new standards for world class event space audio visual systems for these major events, exhibitions and conventions space.
