Q2 Stadium Kicks Off Inaugural Season for MLS’s Austin FC

Diversified partners with club to overcome unprecedented pandemic and unexpected snowstorm, delivering new stadium to welcome fans.

The year 2020 presented a shared—albeit unprecedented—obstacle that many projects had to face as the pandemic caused site closures, delayed lead times and additional safety requirements for everyone. “We were able to mitigate some of the delays from COVID-19 and dealt with historic weather events as well as delays from subcontractors to complete the broadcast-control room and IPTV-systems integration,” says Tony Gaston, senior account executive, sports and live events, Diversified. “We leveraged our previous experience in live events and MLS workflows to develop a cost-effective solution for Austin FC that met project budget and timeframes.”

From a control room that’s guaranteed to provide a stellar match-day presentation to IPTV coverage throughout the venue that keeps fans engaged the entire game, regardless of where they are, Q2 Stadium is designed to deliver a top-notch fan experience.

“I am honored and thrilled to be a part of this club’s first season and the first professional-sports venue in my hometown,” adds Austin-native Gaston. “From its design and architecture to concession choices that directly reflect the culture of the city, the venue is truly spectacular.”
